Controlling the Flow

You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.
— Marcus Aurelius

Choose Your Grounding Mantra

Letting go doesn’t mean giving up. It means trusting what’s mine will stay.

I can’t control everything. But I can control how I care for
myself in this moment.

Control is a response to fear. I choose curiosity instead.

If it unravels, I will still be me. I will not disappear.

Reflection 1:

What outcome am I most afraid of? What does control try to protect me from feeling?
This opens the gateway to the why underneath.

Reflection 2:

What’s one memory where surrender brought something beautiful?
This helps create proof in the system that letting go can work.

Creative Ritual – Cut the Strings

Draw a puppet on a page — or a symbol that feels “bound.” Label each string with something you’re currently trying to control.

Then — one by one — cut or erase those strings, replacing each one with:

  • A mantra

  • A self-care act

  • A symbol of trust

Title the page something like: “Strings I No Longer Hold.”
